History of Victory Praise Cathedral, Inc.

"The Church Where the Love of God Flows"

These words not only represent the vision of our present stage, but they also represent the conception and history that established this ministry in August of 1997. Victory Praise Cathedral (VPC), Inc. is a ministry that spreads the Word of God throughout the community and surrounding areas. Our goal is to take the Gospel message to the nations by establishing His Word in the heart of our community, ministering outside of the walls. We want to show our neighbors the love of God through our actions and from His Word: to promote Kingdom building, to educate, empower, and encourage humanity everywhere, and to remind them of the "Hope" which is in Christ Jesus.

VPC was founded by a vision God gave to our Senior Pastor, Bishop Joie Lee Johnson, "to go into the entire world and preach the gospel," commencing our birth. The first service was held in the music studio connected to the Bishop's house. Souls were added to the ministry resulting in a move to a larger area within the home, the basement.

In order to reach the community, VPC had to come out of the comfort zone of the four walls in our Bishop’s home. God began to elevate Bishop Johnson's faith to believe him for increase. A storefront location, situated in the harvest-ripe area at 5731 Trammel Road, Lake City, GA became the new edifice for kingdom building. On January 1, 1998, VPC held its first worship service at the new location. Bishop Otis Johnson and Elder Juanita Johnson performed the dedication services of the new location. While experiencing steady growth in all areas of ministry, it was becoming apparent that our new place of Worship was now becoming too small for the vision. Embarking on a journey to please and obey God in all deeds and actions, another building was sought. God ordered our steps to 1115 Mount Zion Road, Morrow, GA. Our co-laborer in the gospel, Pastor Wes, confirmed our move with a statement uttered through him from God, "Preacher I have been waiting on you."

After this move, God continued to confirm His word and we understood that His best was yet to come. Souls continued to be added to VPC as God spoke. We later moved to Citizens Parkway in Morrow, GA, where we were located only a few months before God relocated us at 5405 Jonesboro Road in Lake City, GA. God not only blessed us with a beautiful edifice, but also included was a gymnasium, a school, and administrative offices. At this location came the birthing and establishment of Victory Academy and Victory Angels Daycare and Early Learning Center. God truly supplied provision for the vision.

God's Word lets us know that the steps of a good man are ordered of the Lord (Ps 37: 23). We moved from Jonesboro Road to Phillips Drive: Lake City Elementary School, to fulfill a mission God had for us there. A few months later, we were relocated to 6741 Church Street, Riverdale GA. This sight would be one of the permanent locations for Victory Academy and general assembly meetings. We now reside at 5632 Old Dixie Road, Forest Park, GA, until the completion of our permanent edifice off Boulder Crest Road near Anvil Block Road.

God has always proven He was faithful. The prophet Habakkuk wrote, "Write the vision, and make it plain, upon tables, that he may run that readeth it. For the vision is for yet an appointed time, but in the end it shall speak and not lie... it will surely come..." (Hab2: 2-3 NKJV). As the vision continues to unfold for VPC, we will remain faithful to His call.

Throughout our history, we have focused and continue to focus on four strategic purposes that we have seen woven through the pages of the New Testament. We aim to worship Christ (celebration), to bear witness to Christ (communication), to grow up in Christ (cultivation), and to love others in Christ Name (care). God has graced VPC with His presence and blessings.

Our name speaks, as a testimony to our destiny for with every trial we go through, we will remember to PRAISE Him for we already have the VICTORY. "For God is not unrighteous to forget your work and labour of love, which ye have shewed toward His name, in that ye have ministered to the saints, and do minister" (Heb 6: 10 KJV).
